There are many ways to find legal help. But it's not always easy. Sometimes, you have to talk to several people before you get help. If you talk to someone but they can't help you, ask them who can. Don't give up!

You can:

• Ask a friend or family member.
• Look for help at your court.

• Use LawHelpCalifornia.org to find legal aid offices, lawyer referral services, and other free and low-cost services in your county.

• (800) 668-1005 - 24 hour a day hot line that provides free legal help to Mexican citizens living in California.
• Look up "Lawyers" or "Attorneys" in the yellow pages of your phone book.
• Use the State Bar of California's Find an Attorney .
• Click here for more lawyers, government agencies, and groups included in this Self-Help Center. Many offer free or low-cost services!
• Find a Lawyer Referral Service in your county.
• Find the bar associations in your county.
